Big X-Men secret reveled + Fantastic Four crossover

It was announced yesterday that there will be a sequel to the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past, and it will be called… X-Men: Apocalypse! For those that do not get the Apocalypse part, Apocalypse is one of the top bad guys to the X-Men and he is the first mutant. If you have some free time check out X-Men: Age of Apocalypse. This is arguably one of the most popular and one of the best X-Men story lines. If I was a betting man, I’d bet that Apocalypse plays a role in the upcoming Days of Future past, maybe as a puppet master of sorts. In the comics series Age of Apocalypse, Professor Xavier was murdered  before he created the X-Men, and Magneto ended up leading the X-Men against Apocalypse. Maybe something like that could happen at the end of the movie, who knows.

In an equally as big, if not bigger story, Fox has announced that they have hired Simon Kinberg to a three year deal to help create a shared universe, like the one Marvel has. This confirms all of the speculation that has been going around about a X-Men and Fantastic Four cross over.  Kinberg is the screen writer for Days of Future Past and he is also attached to the 2015 Fantastic Four reboot. It will be interesting to note what happens to Mark Millar. Mark Millar was hired in September 2012 to be the creative consultant on Fox’s Marvel properties. Reason would suggest that he is no longer at that position.  On a quick side note, for those who do not know, Marvel does not own the live action movie rights to X-Men or Fantastic Four. They gave them up years ago so they could get these comic books made into movies,  when they did not have the deal with Disney and could not finance these projects.  So as it stands, the Marvel movies on the list for Fox so far are, X-Men: Days of Future Past(2014), Fantastic Four reboot(2015), another solo Wolverine movie, X-Force, and X-Men Apocalypse. It’s also interesting to note that Hugh Jackman has stated that he does not know if he’ll be returning in the solo Wolverine movie. He has been playing the character for almost 15 years( when the first X-Men was in production), and he is also getting old and as you get older it is hard to maintain the type of physical physique that he has for these movies.
